Whilst we do not have any vacancies at this time, we will always consider a recruitment consultant from a pension, employee benefits, financial services  or legal sector background.  Our offices are in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire and our working structure enables home working from any UK location, part-time and self-employed contractors.

Typical Day at BranWell Ford

There is no typical day in the office for a recruitment consultant.  It is a mass of administration, phone calls, making decisions and most of all, in sales it’s about having fun.  So I asked Nikki Haupt about her typical day as a recruitment consultants for the large TPA market and she summarised this as:

Research job sites, register candidates, register vacancies, update Microdec Profile, remove vacancies from Broadbean, discuss a candidates reason for leaving, collate and issue a salary survey, search a pension job, shortlist candidates, re-drafting CVs, design and issue a mailshot, filing, making coffee for the team, squeaking the dog toy (placements are fun), meeting with the boss, drafting a fee agreement, preparing for a client meeting, finalising a tender, uploading CV’s onto client portals, arranging a 2nd interview, obtaining client feedback, presenting an offer, updating a candidate profile & coding the database, raising an invoice, team meeting, drafting a blog, searching through Social Media, meeting with advertising agencies, speaking to the help desk (IT can be a pain), working on a project including the new website or company brochure, finding a client a pensions temp, speaking to HR, team leaders and pensions managers, ascertaining someone’s excel skills, updating the parking rota, preparing for monthly meeting, updating the to-do list, reading the industry press, keeping in touch with candidates, updating current vacancies, presenting an offer, helping with a resignation..............  It is a job that is very busy and a complete juggling act.

BranWell Ford recruitment consultants are a team of pension recruitment experts who support and motivate each other.  Teamwork is key to anyone who joins our company.  As pension specialists we understand that the pensions industry is relatively small and decreasing in size.  There are lots of crossovers in relation to our customers and we have in-depth knowledge of departmental structures for in-house pension teams, third party administration teams and actuarial, pensions and EB consultancies.  We know which companies have merged, who they see as their competitors, senior staff who have moved around the industry, who is married to who and this gives our team extensive knowledge to understand the clients culture.  We appreciate the team fit, pensions software, client portfolio’s, scheme design and this gives our Consultants the advantage in finding the right pension professional for the job.

Joining the BranWell Ford team will give you the opportunity to carve out your own recruitment area of expertise.  You will have the autonomy to design you own business plan and work with your manager who will provide support and guidance to keep you on track to meet your performance and financial targets.  We have monthly 1:1 sales meetings to discuss successes, problems and put in place goals and plans for the next month.

Support

Our Consultants have complete administration support so you won’t be typing CV’s, issuing applications packs or chasing for ID, leaving you free to register candidates, track the jobs market, meet customers and do what any good recruiter should do best, enjoy their job and engage with customers.

Recruiting for the pensions sector means speaking to people outside of office hours, so our team do start early and work late with core hours being 8.30 am – 5.30 pm, but we all take our lunch hours and value the work life balance.
